Call For Entries Dutch Design Week Designer Expo 2024

23-04-2024

Once again this year, we are organizing a Designer Exhibition at Piet Hein Eek. Are you a designer and does your project and design philosophy fit within our concept? Then sign up now for our Designer Exhibition. Send your preferences and a PDF of your project before June 30th to claudia@pietheineek.nl.

Please consider the following before applying for the selection procedure:

Spaces

This year, we are renting out plots in our office, showroom, above the Grand Café, and on the platform. This year, we have chosen to only rent out small plots. If you need more space, you can, of course, rent multiple plots next to each other. Renting a complete space or a larger space of >50m2 is also possible. Contact claudia@pietheineek.nl for options and rates. Larger presentations in large spaces are preferred by us.

Click on the floor plans below for an overview of the plots per space. The red plots are already allocated, the yellow plots are on hold, and the green plots are still available.

Office

In our office, we rent out 10 plots, each of 4m2. The office is located at the main entrance and is fully visible through large windows. For the Dutch Design Week, walls will be built to separate the rented and visited area from the rest of the office. These walls are one and a half sheet width high (3.66m).

Showroom

Our showroom is located on the first floor of our building, above the shop. In this space, you’ll find the Tweek workshop and also a bar where visitors can get snacks and drinks. On the left side of the floor plan we have a large square gallery/museum-like space of over 85m2 for larger presentations.

Grand Café

Above our Grand Café, we have 13 different plots for rent ranging from 4m2 to 6m2. The space above the Grand Café is accessible via stairs in the restaurant, which is open late every evening during the Dutch Design Week. Renting the entire space for larger presentations is also possible.

Platform

The platform outside offers space for 23 plots of 5m2, next to the meeting house, which is also for rent. The platform will be enclosed with transparent plastic sheet walls for the Dutch Design Week. When renting a plot on the platform, keep in mind that it is an outdoor plot. The plastic sheet walls only provide protection against wind and rain but do not make the platform a closed space. So, it’s a good idea not to leave your valuable items on the platform at the end of the day. Renting the entire platform for a larger (outdoor) presentation is also possible. In that case, we can choose not to enclose the platform with plastic sheet walls.

Rates

For the plots in our office, showroom, above the Grand Café, and the platform, a rate of €125.00 per m2 (excluding 21% VAT) applies. When taking 2 plots together, a rate of €115.00 per m2 (excluding 21% VAT) applies, and when taking 3 or more plots together, a rate of €105.00 per m2 (excluding 21% VAT) applies. The full payment must be made no later than September 30th. Different rates apply for locations elsewhere in the building.

  • Workshop 50 m2: €12,500.00
  • Meeting house 18m2: €1,500.00

Application Procedure

To apply for the Designer Expo, send an email to claudia@pietheineek.nl with the following information:

  • A PDF file with the work you want to present
  • A description of your presentation
  • Your preference for one or more of the plots offered by us
  • A description of how you want to arrange your plot, including dimensions

We will carefully review each request and make a selection from the submissions. We will, of course, do our utmost to let you know as soon as possible whether you have been selected for participation. Once you have applied and the application has been approved, you will receive, in addition to an official confirmation, more detailed information regarding your participation at Piet Hein Eek during DDW 2024.

In the meantime, make sure to complete your registration for the DDW as soon as possible. If you do not do this by June 14th, you will not be included in the communication of the Dutch Design Week itself and therefore will not appear on their map and website. This does not enhance the visibility of your project, so make sure your registration for the DDW is completed on time!
