Studio RENS – Halvemaanstraat 24

RENS is a design research studio specialised in the applied investigation of colours and materials. Based in Eindhoven (the Netherlands), we offer customised designs and valuable insights through a multitude of practices and services.

RENS was founded in 2008 by Renee Mennen and Stefanie van Keijsteren. We pair a precise, almost mathematical approach to design research with hands-on material experiments and a keen eye for colour. Across disciplines and in a variety of mediums, we work on collaborative, commissioned or self initiated projects.

For more than 80 years, the Spectrum collection has connected design icons by leading Dutch designers with the classics of the future. The collection consists of strong characters, each with their own story. Spectrum furniture is designed by renowned Dutch designers. Design icons by Martin Visser, Gerrit Rietveld, Benno Premsela and Constant Nieuwenhuys, are combined with the classics of the future by designers such as Piet Hein Eek, Studio Parade, Carolina Wilcke and Aart van Asseldonk.

Studio Marc Barreda is a creative research studio led by the eponymous artist and designer. Devoted to material exploration, specifically in glass, the comprehensive studio combines traditional craftsmanship with an experimental approach to create unique, thought-provoking works. Barreda collaborates with artists, designers, scientists, and institutions worldwide, pushing the boundaries of what is possible with glass and other materials. His work develops through a reciprocal relationship between scientific concepts and the drama of existence, emphasizing an attention and devotion to fine craftsmanship and phenomenological explorations. The results are objects and collaborations that are both visually intriguing and conceptually rich, reflecting a deep engagement with material history and culture, and contemporary concepts.
