Marc Mulders

Marc Mulders (Tilburg, 23 september 1958), painter, glazier and photographer

Marc Mulders went to the Acadamy of Art St. Joost at Breda, where he graduated in 1983. In 1985 he won the Prix de Rome “basisprijs”. Marc Mulders’ work consists mostly of oil paintings. In his work he follows the course of nature, the eternal cycle of life and death. This cycle has been central in the western art tradition and Mulders places himself delibaretely in that tradition.

Stained glass

In addition, Marc Mulders now realised twelve stained glass windows with glass appliqué, including ‘A garden of glass’ for the twenty-fifth jubilee of Queen Beatrix in the New Church in Amsterdam and ‘The Last Judgement’ for the St. Jan Cathedral at Den Bosch.

In addition, he had solo exhibitions in art galleries in the Netherlands and abroad, including Galerie Wittenbrink München (1991); Galerie Brabara Farber, Amsterdam (1996); Daniel Templon Gallery, Paris (1997); Daniel Stux Gallery, New York (1999), Galerie Brennecke, Berlin (2003) en Galerie Borzo, Amsterdam (2010) and De Galerie van Piet Hein Eek (2014 and 2017).

In November 2016 Marc Mulders has been chosen Artist of the Year 2017.
