30 October 2012 – Chair exhibition continued

17-07-2016

Even though the chair exhibition has been on display for quite some time, we’ve decided to continue it. The main reason for this is that, in recent months, we’ve worked extremely hard on our chair book (The Chair), which turns out to be a sort of catalogue for the exhibition. This book has only been available for a week and there are only two weeks until the scheduled end of the exhibition, so it would be a bit of a waste of so much effort to end it now. Writing and compiling the book has given added amplification and significance to the arrangement of the chairs; each of the chairs tells its own story, but together the stories tell the tale of a period of twenty years, and an even longer period about me personally.

Another reason is that the ‘Roberto Polo’s Choice’ exhibition was put together by Roberto Polo as a sort of run-up to modern times and to my work in particular. It would be a shame to separate these two exhibitions so soon after the marriage.
