3 November 2013- Magisch (Magical) – A Lady’s Trio in Concert

06-08-2016

You can never be sure whether the classical concerts will be a success. The musicians are often young, their promising talent being their most striking attribute. And what do we mean here by success anyway? Is it a success if there is a large audience; if there is appreciation and enjoyment; if both audience and musicians are happy; or if it generates enough income? The last point does not count, since even a sold-out concert does not cover the costs. So why do we do it then?

Afterwards, you realise time and time again, both the music and the musician have got under your skin, almost more intimately and intensely than you could have imagined. The event hall (which we decided at the last moment to renovate instead of demolish) with its soft board ceiling with holes in it, has acoustics to equal those of a concert hall. Not to mention a remarkable ‘seventies living room/Philips canteen’ atmosphere. I recently realised that there is only one word to describe everything we have heard there up till now: MAGICAL. Fortunately, audience numbers are increasing each time. However, there are still places available.
