We have been working together with De Parade travelling theatre festival for some time now. We’ve provided an enormous tent, bars, tables, scissor lift beer tables, lookout posts, drawings, enormous tables and more. So now that we’ve got the space, it seems only fitting to turn the request around for a change and invite De Parade to pay us a visit. And, as with so many other recent ideas we’ve had in passing, everyone turned out to be quite enthusiastic about it and, although a number of hurdles need to be overcome first, we’re going to give it a shot.
It’s to be a satellite parade, with part of the performances from Amsterdam being moved to Eindhoven. The camp will be pitched at the head of our building and the enormous tables with kitchens on them will be used for performing tricks, dancing and whatever else arrives in our street, right-side up or upside-down. Performances will be held in tents on the platform and around the building, the enormous Terts Brinkhof table will serve as the linking element, Amaro will do the cooking, and all of this will together form the first step towards an annual event.
