September 2008 – Holiday homes in France

28-04-2016

In my last update on the holiday homes, I announced somewhat recklessly that they were to be finished by last summer. Apparently that was not the case. The roof of the water mill is currently under construction and the final touches to the outbuildings are being made. The construction work in itself is not really delayed, but there was simply a lot of work to be done and all kinds of matters had to be dealt with along the way. A canal has already been constructed (swimming pool), through which the water will flow from the river to the water mill, and continue flowing under the water mill and downstream again into the river.

An entire book can be written on all the ups and downs of construction in France, but everyone working on this project is truly giving it their all.  The project is therefore really starting to take shape. The outbuilding where we have already spent a number of holidays is looking fantastic. The grass that was sown outside is already green and we have even planted a fig tree.  More and more people are beginning to understand the inspiration behind this project and the overall concept is becoming ever more clear and tangible.
