With the current developments in mind, we carry on and will be presenting our very first pop-up production store at Merci, during Maison & Objet from 24 to 27 March.
Especially for this event we have developed an equally-thick-as-wide collection of scrap wood that is easy to manufacture with small tools. The whole pop-up production store (the prototypes, a large batch of made-to-measure planed planks and a simple workbench with some hand tools) have been loaded into the van. Customers can choose the model and scrap wood they want. Exactly like we always do it in our workshop in Eindhoven, but now “live” in Paris.
Hopefully there will be some space left over in the van, because we will also be taking a large number of furniture items, including a brand-new aluminium chair for outdoors (and also indoors). The first series of 30 items is now being made. In the past we have always presented the outdoor furniture after the summer, but now we are on time and the very first outdoor aluminium chairs are seeing the light of day now that spring is in the air and the weather is improving.
