Spaces<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This year, we are renting out lots in our office, workshop, showroom, and on the platform. This year, we have chosen to rent out only small plots. Larger plots may also be possible, by arrangement. Contact luna@pietheineek.nl for options and rates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click on the floor plans below for an overview of the plots per space. The red lots are already taken, the yellow lots are under option and the green lots are still available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Office<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In our office, we rent out 12 small plots. The office is located near the main entrance and fully visible through large windows. For Dutch Design Week, walls are built to separate the area to be rented out and visited from the rest of the office. These walls are one and a half slab widths high (3.66m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Workshop<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The workshop consists of two parts. In the left part, we rent out small plots and the right part can be rented as a whole for larger projects. The workshop is located at the main entrance, opposite the office and fully visible through large windows.       Showroom<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Our showroom is located on the first floor of our premises, above the shop. This space contains Tweek’s studio and also a bar where visitors can get snacks and drinks. At the back of the showroom is the second entrance and exit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Platform<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        The platform outside provides space for different kinds of large and small projects. For Dutch Design Week, the platform will be enclosed all around with transparent plastic tarpaulin walls. When renting a plot on the platform, keep in mind that this is an outdoor plot. The plastic tarpaulin walls all around only offer protection against wind and rain, but do not make the platform a lockable space. So you would do well not to leave your valuables on the platform at the end of the day. Renting the entire platform for a larger (outdoor) presentation is also possible. In that case, we can choose together not to close off the platform all around with plastic tarpaulin walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Rates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        A flat rate per m2 (excluding 21% VAT) applies to the plots in our office, workshop and showroom. Full payment is due by 30 September. If you would like to rent a space on the platform, please contact us for the rates. This is because these depend on how much space you need.         Application procedure<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        To apply for the Designer Expo, send an email to luna@pietheineek.nl containing the following information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • A pdf file with the work you want to present<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • A description of your presentation<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Your preference for one or more of the lots we offer<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • A description of how you plan to lay out your plot, including dimensions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          We will study each application carefully and make a selection from the submissions. We will of course do our utmost to let you know as soon as possible whether you have been selected to participate. Once you have applied and the application has been approved, you will receive, in addition to an official confirmation, more detailed information regarding your participation at Piet Hein Eek during DDW 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          In the meantime, arrange your application with the DDW itself as soon as possible. After all, if you don’t do this before 14 June, you will not be included in the communication of the Dutch Design Week itself and will therefore not appear on their map and website. This has proved to be an exceptional way of producing since it is quite rare to both design and produce furniture 'under the same roof' in countries with high labour costs. Each product is designed with a focus on the material, techniques and craftsmanship required to make it. In 2010, Piet Hein Eek moved his company from Geldrop to a former Philips factory in Eindhoven. The most important part of the company is the production facility (wood, metal, ceramics upholstery and cartonnage) which is located in the heart of the building. The transparency of the building gives visitors insight into the whole production process. The concept of offering a total experience starts with the showroom and the production processes but also includes a restaurant, an art gallery, rented studios, a chip shop, a hairdresser and from October 2020 there will also be a hotel. Eek has worked together with architect Iggie Dekkers since 2015, designing a range of houses and undertaking architectural redevelopments and other construction projects.
