Every year we try to come up with a special presentation for PAN. Our own objects serve the artists’ work. A nice upside-down world where it’s not about what we make, for a change. Yet we actually always show a lot of our own work. For PAN Amsterdam 2022, I came up with the idea of creating a very sober gallery interior, also a little bit inspired by Gabriel Roca’s fantastic new work called Slow motion. Gabriel seems, naturally and without searching, to be constantly renewing himself. He now paints with black ink what appear to be architectural photographs. Volumes, proportion, light and shadow give the impression of architecture and photography. What you see is nonexistent, made without an example. After PAN, his work can be admired in our own gallery on the first floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition stand will be 3 black painted walls with the asphalt floor of the exhibition building itself, a desk, a chair a cabinet, and a lamp. Besides Gabriel’s work, we will show work by Willem van den Hoed and Reinoud van Vught. And at the last minute, we thought of making it a bit of an Eek show too!  The gold jewellery of Roos and Geertje (Tweek) is in the display cabinet and work by Lieve and Marthe (Maria Bodil) hangs on a wall. Marthe is not my daughter, but she is one of my best friends. Not professional, nepotism, or at least preferential treatment on the wrong grounds, you might say. But I look forward to being put through the wringer with praise!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
