It was a quite an experience, sitting in an old-fashioned auction room with a number in hand. The atmosphere was very exciting yet informal. After only two auctions, we had what we came for: a considerable amount of Delftware, pottery and by-catch.<\/p>\n<p>What we were surprised to find is that antique is not in. The most beautiful pieces were left unsold or sold for low amounts. I began to wonder why enormous amounts of money were handed over for modern objects, while a cabinet from the 17th or 18th century is apparently not worth much anymore. Antique is out and that means it will be in again automatically \u2013 and the sooner the better. To give it a prod in the right direction, we bought the most unusual pieces we could find and we won\u2019t be showing antiques alongside antiques in an antique interior, but rather in a factory alongside modern furniture pieces.
