It’s rather a lion’s den situation, bearing in mind that the combination of business and creativity has free rein in our premises. Moreover, in these hectic times we’re living in, the theme seems more apt than ever before. The successful businesses nowadays are mostly run by creative people with an eye for, and sympathy with the arts, the way it always is in confusing times, when the arts confront, reflect, and offer answers, comfort and direction. Creative people are those who live to create, and not only to earn money.

The creating in itself brings joy, the exact nature of the creation is irrelevant. Far better to have fertile ground in which all sorts of things can grow, than a sandbox from which just one tomato plant has to emerge. I always thought that I had to write a story with questions and basic principles around the theme of creative entrepreneur, but maybe that’s not necessary at all: everyone has their own story to tell, so why not let the entrepreneurs themselves decide what they would like to share with the listener?

Especially for us, Paul Smith is flying in from London on the 26th of January to be our first speaker in the series. We had hoped to welcome Steve Jobs as the second speaker, but sadly, that will no longer be possible. Still, the beginning is already very special.

Lecture by Paul Smith

Date: 26 January
Time: 11:30h to 13:00h
Language: English
Entry: free
Location: evenementenruimte (Events Hall)

Unfortunedly there are no more seats available

In case you would like to have a lunch in the restaurant afterwards, please make a reservation via restaurant@pietheineek.nl.

For some time now, we’ve been playing with the idea of setting up a series of lectures, in which creative entrepreneurs give talks.
