But then people often look at me and laugh as if I’m mad, because if that’s the case, how do I make ends meet? It’s very simple – we make ends meet because we sell, but we don’t sell in the sense of a ‘hard sell’. Now, I’m not very good at English and certainly not when it comes to the theory, but you can interpret the verb ‘to sell’ in two ways. One way is that you can, in a manner of speaking, sell a brick as if it were gold. And the other way is to make a brick into gold which sells itself.

The latter is what happens in our case, as we always do our utmost to create the most beautiful thing possible and then we’re so full of it that we just want to shout from the rooftops. This works well enough for us to continue doing what we enjoy. Recently, as well as making cupboards, tables, lamps and small items, we have started to create whole buildings. You’d think that something like that would really be worth shouting about from the rooftops, but shouting from the rooftops on the Internet seems more effective.

RFbuilding

Photography: Thomas Mayer

The new green houses

Treetrunk house

To whom a real work of Hansje van Halem is a bit too much, we now also have wrapping paper.

These Old window closets are ready to be shipped to Russia!

<< back to news

24-12-2014 I often joke that we’re really bad at selling, and it’s true!
