Immerse yourself in a full evening program where gastronomy and music go hand in hand\, an experience you will remember for a long time. \nJoin us at the long table in the canteen of Piet Hein Eek’s Grand Café for a dinner to remember. In four courses\, you will be introduced to the finest products from Eindhoven and its surroundings. These hyper-local delicacies are carefully curated by Chef Erling\, who works with ingredients produced within a 45-kilometer radius of the restaurant. The suppliers themselves will explain the ingredients\, so you can’t get any closer to the source. \nDuring dinner\, the music will take you on a journey of sounds that stimulate the senses. The program will open with Traditional Finnish Faster Funny by Lasse Pihlajamaa\, performed by Janne Valkeajoki (accordion)\, a work full of humor and playfulness. This is followed by a piece by Jean-Philippe Rameau\, performed by Janne\, which brings to life the sophistication of the French Baroque. \nThe highlight of the evening will be the Storioni Festival’s new production\, La revue de cuisine by Bohuslav Martinů\, performed by the Storioni Trio and featuring Alain de Rudder (trumpet) and Andreas Langenbuch (clarinet). DESCRIPTION:Experience the 15th edition of the Storioni Festival at Piet Hein Eek during our workshop and dinner concerts\, where music and setting come together in an intimate atmosphere. \nThis program highlights a special encounter between the Viennese fin de siècle and the musical innovations of the 20th century. The elegant waltzes of Johann Strauss\, icons of the Viennese musical tradition\, are presented here in surprising chamber music arrangements by composers from the circle of the Second Viennese School\, such as Arnold Schönberg and Alban Berg. These interpretations give the familiar Viennese dance music a new\, transparent\, and at times playful sound. \nIn addition\, the program features music by composers who shaped Vienna’s cultural life around 1900. The suite by Erich Wolfgang Korngold and the atmospheric Der Wind by Franz Schreker reflect the rich\, late-Romantic sound world of Viennese modernism. The charming miniature Schön Rosmarin by Fritz Kreisler adds a touch of Viennese salon style. \nTogether\, these works paint a musical portrait of Vienna at the turn of the century: a city where waltz\, salon music\, and innovative art music coexisted and inspired one another.
