DESCRIPTION:On Friday June 3 the musical Storioni Festival returns to Piet Hein Eek! Last year we welcomed them to our workshop. This year we are kicking off with a surprise concert of personal favourites of the musicians\, in the street of Piet Hein Eek at 17.00 hrs. You can enjoy a delicious fries from Friet van Piet Hein Eek. Alternatively\, you can attend only the evening concerts and dine first in the Lobby Restaurant from our menu. Make a reservation so you can be sure of a table!  \n“After dining\, we will first hear music by English composer Frank Bridge and Hungarian-British late romanticist Emánuel Moór\, then Beethoven’s heroic and revolutionary Third Symphony ‘Eroica’ here in a version for piano quartet. After an intermission in which various spaces within Piet Hein Eek’s complex can be admired\, you will hear music by the Finn Sebastian Fagerlund and the wonderful sextet from Richard Strauss’ opera Capriccio. To conclude\, you can listen to the Clarinettrio ‘pathétique’ by Michael Glinka\, the prophet of Russian music. On the back of the trio Glinka wrote “I have come to know love only through the pain it brings. Don’t wait too long and send your preference by e-mail before June 30\, 2022: claudia@pietheineek.nl. Please consider the following before signing up for the selection procedure: \n\nWe offer the following\n \n\nThe event space will probably be renovated before the Dutch Design Week. The exact floor plan will be announced later\, the square meters below are the same as last year: \n\n\n– Exhibition units from 4 to 20 m2 in the event space\n– One large exhibition space in the office space\n– One large space in the showroom\n– One large space in the workshop\n– Places outside and around the building \n\n\nThe office\, showroom and workshop areas are located at the main entrance and are fully visible through large windows. It is also possible to have an exhibition space outside and/or around the Piet Hein Eek building or a small presentation near a wall. As in previous years\, access to the building is free. If you would like to exhibit at our place\, please do not wait too long and send an email to Pim Hoff: pim@pietheineek.nl\, preferably before the 30th of June. \nPlease consider the following before signing up for the selection procedure (please note: there are some changes compared to last year): \nWe offer the following: \nExhibition units from 4  to 20 square meters (or a multiplicity of this amount) in the events space and two large exhibition spaces of 75 square meters in the office space and 50 square meters in the workshop respectively. Both spaces are located next to the main entrance and fully visible through large windows. For more information and the prices of these rooms\, please contact Pim Hoff directly. \nIt is also possible to create an exhibition space outside our premises and/or around the property of Piet Hein Eek. We are sorry for the inconvenience!).  \nDe neo-klassieke\, Belgische pianist Guy Van Nueten bouwt al enkele decennia aan een veelzijdig oeuvre en heeft solo een heel eigen benadering van muziek componeren: als tegengif tegen de steeds hectischer wordende maatschappij. \nDe afgelopen decennia maakte hij naam als uitvoerder en/of arrangeur op albums van dEUS\, Zita Swoon\, Magnus\, DAAN en Admiral Freebee\, bracht hij met Tom Barman (dEUS) het album ‘Tom Barman en Guy Van Nueten Live’ uit en maakte hij muziek voor film\, dans en theater. Maar bovenal is hij eigenzinnig solo pianist die hedendaags klinkende muziek maakt met wortels in de klassieke muziek.  \nIn november verschijnt zijn nieuwe album ‘Contact’ (Sony Classical). DESCRIPTION:The concerts in Piet Hein Eek’s wood workshop have become a tradition in the TROMP festival in the recent editions. This time with music written for the wooden keys of the marimba and for TROMP laureate Ramon Lormans. Since winning the third prize in the competition in 2006\, Ramon is a celebrated guest in the TROMP festival and in the international percussion field. He is known as a marimbas specialist\, is principal marimba teacher at the conservatories of Amsterdam and Rotterdam\, gives master classes all over the world and last year he was invited by world famous marimbist Keiko Abe for a joint tour through Japan. \n \nIn projects with s t a r g a z e and TEMKO\, Ramon is at the forefront of new music\, surrounded by a new generation of talented composers and artists. In the past few years he inspired them to write new repertoire for marimba\, with some of the pieces now being played by participants in the competition\, like Solo for marimbaby Aart Strootman and An Index of Woodby Anthony Fiumara. Ramon recorded an album in Muziekgebouw Eindhoven in which he performs the works written for him. As the daughter of two orchestral musicians\, she was  brought up with music and displayed a natural affinity towards the piano. Her dark and atmospheric reputation can be seen in her intensely emotional performance style. \nPieter de Graaf \nA pianist with a sole purpose: he wants to move you. DESCRIPTION:The Young Designers and Small Studio Exhibition of the previous DDW was again a great success. Therefore we will organize it again. If you would like to exhibit at our place\, please do not wait too long and send\, preferably before June 30th\, an e-mail to Pim Hoff: pim@pietheineek.nl. \n \nPlease consider the following before signing up for the selection procedure: \nWe offer the following: \nA unit of 3.75 (d) x 2.40 (w) meters with a total of 9 m2 (or a multiplicity of these) in the events space. \nIn addition to our events space\, also this year our first floor gallery space will be available for participants to exhibit. Here we rent units of varying sizes (varying from 9\, 12.5 to 25 m2\, or a multiplicity of this).  \nIt is also possible to realize an exhibition space outside and/or around the property of Piet Hein Eek. Please contact Pim Hoff for further information. \nReservations can be made by contacting Pim Hoff: \nWhite: The unit is for rent \nOrange: There is an option on the unit \nRed: The unit is reserved \nLike the previous years the entrance is free. \nPR and communication \nYour name and project will be included in our communication\, online and at our location. \nParticipants are required to sign up at the DDW organization\, in order to gain more visibility through the DDW organization (click here for more information and costs of participation). The call for entries at the DDW organization closes on June the 30th. The participant fees for designers at the Dutch Design Foundation are substantially lowered as of 2017. \nYou can also apply fot the ‘design rides‘ to present your initiative free of charge during the DDW and gain more exposure.   \nWhat do we ask from you? \nFor all this\, as in the previous year\, we ask for a contribution of € 80.00 per square meter (excluding 21% VAT). Sales from the stand are possible and we do not charge extra costs for this. \nWe will study each application thoroughly and make a selection from the of submissions. We will\, of course\, do our utmost to let you know as soon as possible if you have been selected for participation. \nWe expect every exhibitor to be at his/her stand at all time in order to inform visitors as much as possible. As of this year we decided to adjust the opening ours. DESCRIPTION:On Sunday the 3rd of September the Mariska Martina Quintet will perform in the Piet Hein Eek Restaurant. Mariska Martina Quintet is a London-based jazz quintet consisting of Mariska Martina (vocals/guitar)\, Liam Burton (keys)\, Richard Castle (guitar/saxophone)\, Thomas Higgins (double bass) and Joshua Davies (drums). \nFormed in November 2016 the quintet has already had concerts in prestigious clubs such as the Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club and has played for organisations such as Sofar Sounds and The Ruby Sings Show. \nBesides presenting jazz-covers in a refreshing new way\, they also perform originals written by Mariska Martina herself – who combines her love for jazz with her Latin background to create a jazzy folk sound with inspired lyrics that make you sit back and relax.  \nFree entrance.
