Nothing is worse than having to hide your enthusiasm under chairs or sofas, but as of today we can finally talk about it. We can tell the world about our idea for the TD building in Eindhoven, which we have developed together with Amvest. Unfortunately not because we have emerged from the battle as glorious victor, but because we are in the nerve-racking finale, for which we have just a few weeks to shake off the competition.
Today marked the start of the consultation phase, initiated by the local city council, in which residents living around the TD building have the chance to voice their opinion about the two remaining plans. Of course we have the best plan, although we have never seen the other plan, but it would not be the first time that we have been too optimistic. We have a problem right from the start; we do not yet know exactly what we are going to build.
The plan of attack is to strip the TD building and sell the floors in the three wings as building plots. Private sector rental properties will be located in part of the wing above the car park and running alongside the park. The park will be extended around the entire TD building.
The floors of the wings are for sale just like a traditional building plot, but then in the air with a view over the city and without immediate neighbours. Everyone is invited to fulfil his or her dream, within the structure of the existing building.
So basically we have no problem at all, because we are firmly convinced that we are going to realise a great project with and for everyone involved. The greenest, most transparent, organically grown multiform, yet also orchestrated residential and commercial building in the world. A completely logical plan and a world premiere!
