Storioni visiting Piet Hein Eek

13-05-2022

On Friday 3 June, the musical Storioni Festival returns to Piet Hein Eek! Last year we already welcomed them in our workshop. This year we will kick off with a surprise concert with personal favorites of the musicians, in the street of Piet Hein Eek at 5PM. You can enjoy delicious fries from Piet Hein Eek’s Friet. You can also only visit the evening concerts and first dine in the Lobby Restaurant from our menu. Make a reservation to be sure of a table.

“After dinner there will be music by the English composer Frank Bridge and the Hungarian-British late romanticist Emánuel Moór, and then Beethoven’s heroic and revolutionary Third Symphony ‘Eroica’ here in a version for piano quartet. After a break, where you can walk around the building of Piet Hein Eek, music by the Finn Sebastian Fagerlund and the wonderful sextet from Richard Strauss’ opera Capriccio will be heard. At the end you can listen to the clarinet trio ‘pathétique’ by Michael Glinka, the prophet of Russian music. Glinka wrote, “I only got to know love through the pain it brings.” For this work, the Italian pianist Saskia Giorgini takes the grand piano, winner of the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg in 2016. ”.

Repertoire:
Frank Bridge – Divertimenti for wind quartet H.189, no.1-4
Emánuel Moór – Prelude for cello and piano op.123
