We are lucky to have a production company and to be able to work on-site. Everyone comes to work here every day. The people from the restaurant work in the takeaway or paint the walls of the hotel, the people from production are working hard, busier than ever, and our colleagues in the shop have set up a web-shop, furnished the shop and showroom and have cleaned away all the building dust. And all this in between the hustle and bustle of building a hotel.
The works on the top floor of the hotel were already causing disruption, but the works on the ground floor for the entrance and the placement of a new lift were almost completely impossible to organise in combination with customers browsing through the shop. With temporarily no clients in the building due to the corona measures, which, even by the simplest calculations, would always be a pointless and destructive measure, it actually worked out fine. Thanks to corona, we have been given the ideal moment to realise the renovations in the shop and showroom.
In short: sales are going well, production finally seems to be organised, the hotel with lobby, restaurant, roof bar and terraces are coming along nicely. We have more for sale than we ever had and the shop also looks better than ever, art has never had a more prominent position in the showroom, we have more vintage, art and antiques than ever before, and the takeaway is going very well.
It takes a bit of getting used to, but everyone can come visit us again! The measures easily fit in with the amount of space we have here. And it seems like the first construction issues are behind us; we’re on the up!
